What we’re especially glad to receive
Corrections. If a number is wrong, a link is dead, or a rule changed and we missed it, tell us. We’d rather be corrected than be wrong in public. Include the URL and what’s off, and we’ll fix it and date the change.
Questions we haven’t answered. If you searched for something and couldn’t find a straight answer anywhere, that’s useful to know. A lot of what gets written here starts as someone else’s unanswered question.
Your experience. Tried a tool we reviewed and had a different result? Filed something and hit a snag we didn’t mention? That’s the kind of detail that makes this site worth reading.
What we can’t do
We can’t give you individual tax, legal, or financial advice. Not because we don’t want to help — because doing it responsibly requires seeing your full situation, and doing it irresponsibly could cost you real money. For anything consequential, talk to a CPA or an attorney licensed in your state.
We don’t accept sponsored posts, guest posts, or paid links. Pitches for these won’t get a reply.
For vendors
If you make software for self-employed people and want it considered, you’re welcome to tell us it exists. Two things to know:
- We buy our own accounts. We won’t accept a free or extended one.
- Telling us about it doesn’t buy a favorable review, or any review at all.
Response time
Usually within a few business days. Corrections get handled first.
